Powerful Information
Powerful Information is a British charity working to empower individuals and local communities in lower income countries to tackle the root causes of poverty and injustice and reduce environmental impact. We work through a network of local partners to provide appropriate information, education and training, and support grassroots initiatives that build social capital, promote social justice, and raise public awareness of important social and environmental issues, hence our name 'powerful information'.
Ali Martin Sesay, Vision for the Blind, addressing a group of blind men and women in Kabala (in the north of Sierra Leone). We have been working closely with Vision for the Blind since it was established (in 2003), helping disabled people fight for their rights and challenging negative public attitudes to disability.
We are supporting dozens of local communities in West Africa and Eastern Europe through joint projects. The work is co-ordinated by a small core team based in Milton Keynes.
Our Programmes
